I love the story of Esther. An orphan girl who becomes a queen. A condemned people who are miraculously saved by faith and fasting and the heroic actions of brave people willing to stand up for what is right.

In Esther 4:14 we read “For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

God had prepared Esther to be at the right place at the right time. She may not have wanted to be there and I’m sure she didn’t want to risk her life going in to the king uninvited, not knowing if he would put her to death for doing so. But she did it anyway and her people were saved because of her actions. We are also sometimes in situations that we don’t necessarily want to be in and are forced to make hard decisions we don’t want to make. As we fast and pray for guidance God will give us the strength to do what we need to do and will lead us in the paths that we should take. We are on the earth at this time for a specific reason also and I know that God has lead me to this particular ward and neighborhood and I am so grateful for that. I hope that we can stand up for what we believe in and follow the Savior’s teachings in all that we do.
